Ok in my house my kids are my taste testers when it comes to my cooking.
But here is my recipe for chili and I would like some honest answer's and honest feedback on
this recipe it is a family recipe and I have tweaked it a bit.
5lbs hamburger meat
1 large onion diced
2 large green bell peppers diced
2 celery stalks diced fine
2 chili packets seasoning
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 36oz jar of tomato juice
1 16 to 20 oz jar of salsa any brand
10 cans of beans any kind( I use chili, kidney, and red beans)
1 large can of tomatoes crushed or diced
first you start your meat cooking with the onion, cumin, and smoked paprika.
while that is cooking you start your sauce cooking, add your tomato juice, salsa,
both chili seasoning packets, bell peppers, celery ,tomatoes and beans this will cook for at least 2 hours .when your meat is done drain and add it to your sauce this need to cook for at least two hours on a low setting, I cook mine on low for two to three hours stirring when needed after the first hour I add a tablespoon of dried onion to the pot.
